Morris Enjoying His Freedom
John Morris arrived at Fleetwood on the day our League 2 promotion hopes took a turn for the worse when we were beaten 4-0 by Plymouth Argyle at Highbury.
It took the Blackburn loanee a couple of weeks to get himself into the side but now in it the midfielder, who is also at home playing at full back, has told Fleetwood Today that he's enjoying his creative role with the Cod Army.
'I like it in that midfield position. It gives we more freedom than I'd have at full-back.
'I set up one of the goals on Tuesday night, and there were chances on Saturday I was involved in.
'It's been great to be in that position and I love going forward.'
The defensive side of the game isn't something that he's neglecting and knows it's an important area of it, which he's capable of doing, but attacking is what he wants to continue being more involved with.
After setting up Antoni Sarcevic goal recently and playing a part in the penalty won on Saturday Graham Alexander is likely to keep him involved with him hoping to continue to play a key role for us for the remainder of the season and the 22 year olds loan.
'Obviously it's important to be strong at the back but I love being part of the attack.
'It's one of my best attributes. I hope I can contribute for the team in these important games to the end of the season.'
With a free week, which is rare, the squad has a chance to have a breather and that will benefit some in need of this and looking to get over knocks.
Exeter are next up for the Cod Army on Saturday with Morris not only hoping to keep his place in the side, and in an attacking area, but also hoping that we'll collect another win against the side at the other end of the League 2 table to maintain our hopes of making the top three.
This, beating side at the wrong end, isn't something we've always managed though.
