Right Place Right Time
Iain Hume was finally able to open his Fleetwood account on Saturday when he rescued us a point against local rivals Morecambe.
It wasn't for the lack of trying that the Preston loanee hadn't scored already, several times since he arrived he had seen shots well saved, cleared off the line or even hit the frame of the goal. I think he'd even had the ball in the net but it was chalked off.
Hume has joked about his 'great finish' when talking on the official website but it was definitely a case of being in the right place at the right time, he calls it luck though.
'It was a great finish, clinical to say the least
'It was very fortunate that it landed at me. Parky (Jon Parkin) has had a shot and it's scrambled over and it's hit my foot and I made sure I hit the back of the net.
'The timing of it was perfect for us because we still had a bit of time to get something else from the game.
'It shouldn't have got to that point. These are the types of games we should be finishing a lot earlier.'
We couldn't find that winner but his equaliser, as much as we're disappointed not to win, could prove to gain us an important win at the end of the season.
He also added that if we keep playing in a similar manor we'll get more of what we deserve with Chesterfield still the side being targeted with the Canadian of the impression now that the pressure is all on them holding the third and final automatic League 2 promotion spot at the moment.
