Alexander - Don't Get Carried Away Yet

Alexander - Don't Get Carried Away Yet

Manager Graham Alexander was obviously delighted to see us pick up the victory over York City, but he has warned that nobody can get carried away yet as it is only effectively half time in the play off semi finals.

A one nil victory courtesy of a goal from Matty Blair gives us the advantage at the half way break, but there is another 90 minutes to go yet and speaking to the Official Site following the game, Alexander was more focused on keeping our feet on the ground and not letting any kind of Wembley thoughts get in the way of putting in another positive performance on Friday.

'We are really pleased with the performance and obviously the result. The clean sheet was very important and it's going to be just as difficult on Friday. We have to do all the things we did and more because York will have to come at us to get back into the tie so we have to make sure we go up against that.'

Alexander says though that we simply won't be going into the game looking to sit back and defend, because he knows we are at our best when we are attacking, and that will be how we approach the game.

'It's only half time in a cup tie between two good teams and we need to make sure we produce the same performance again on Friday.'

The gaffer has every confidence that that will happen because he sees the focus and the desire within the team and he knows they are determined to succeed.
