'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Alexander To Take A Few Days

Manager Graham Alexander has said that now we know we will have League One football next season, he's going to take a few days to make any tough decisions he has to make in terms of our playing squad for next season.

Speaking to Sky Sports as the dust settles on what we have achieved this season, Alexander said he was confident the squad could make the step up, but obviously he'd be looking to bring in a fresh face or two to improve us.

'It was a fantastic day for everyone, it's the end result of a lot of hard labour. I will be trying to make tough decisions on players that are here, and were part of a successful squad, and who we need to bring in. We are going to take a few days to do that, it's important that we enjoy what we have achieved.'

Alexander says that tentative plans are already in place, along with alternatives as obviously he had to have one eye on the League One possibility, but also on the fact we could've remained in League Two, so looking at potential players was difficult, but now he knows, he can move forward on those plans now.

'The squad doesn't need a major overhaul, it's a squad that can make the next step. As in all seasons every manager looks to improve his team a little bit.'

Obviously Alexander wants us to compete from the off and secure our survival in League One so we can kick on further, but he's mindful that it's a level we've never been at before so there is plenty for him as a manager and for the team to learn first, and that will obviously take a little bit of time as we will have to find out feet.

'We know it will be tough, this season was tough as well but we go there full of confidence.'
