Alexander's High Praise For Pond

If ever a player deserved the success that they've achieved then it's got to be Nathan Pond as he has with us at Fleetwood.

An incredible stalwart at the club the defender continued to adapt to the Divisions as we have sailed through them during his decade, so far, with the Cod Army. Some thought that he might not have made the step up from Conference Football to League 2 level but he managed that with ease.

Pond was a key performer for us last season, with his performances in the Play Offs a key factor behind out securing of a place in League 1 next season, which then left the question being asked could he manage the step up from League 2 to League 1? I'm left with little doubt that he can as there isn't that much between to two really.

Graham Alexander has heaped the praise upon Pond with what he said in Fleetwood Today with the manager left with little doubt that he can make the step up with us with him Mr Fleetwood basically.

'If you could cram one club into one man Pondy is that man. He epitomises everything about Fleetwood.

'He's been questioned all his career, can he go to the next level. He`s always found what was needed.

'He's got the intelligence to find out what you need to do to compete. He's done it all and he can definitely go on next season with us.

'He's a fantastic professional and he epitomises everything about this club.'

What more can I say? Not a lot as Alexander has said it all!

Pond, and the club, have come a long way since the one that he joined from Lancaster City when we were playing way back in the North West Counties League.

Six promotions in ten years and we're in League 1.
