'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Goodall And Parkin Released

Jon Parkin got ahead of the official announcement by Tweeting that he was leaving Fleetwood. The striker's departure was confirmed by the Cod Army this evening with him joined in leaving Highbury by Alan Goodall.

Goodall and Parkin had played a big role at the club over the past three and two years, respectively, and will be missed but time moves on and sometimes you need to have change.

The official website, upon the news they were being released, said.

'Everyone at Fleetwood Town would like to wish Jon and Alan well in their future endeavours.'

I'd echo those thoughts.

The club also confirmed that the other out of contract players are all involved in 'advanced talks' over new contracts with announcements on their futures to come later this week with loanees Josh Morris, Charlie Taylor and Iain Hume all returning to their parent clubs.
