No Rebuild But I'll Strengthen Quickly
Manager Graham Alexander has said again that Fleetwood won't be undergoing a major rebuilding process this summer because he trusts the players that gained us promotion to do a job at this level, however, the strengthening that he does do he'll do quickly so they have as much as pre season as possible to adjust to the club, the style and their new team mates.
Speaking to Fleetwood Today the gaffer explained.
'There's plenty going on. We've identified our targets, the positions we feel we need to strengthen. There have been a lot of phonecalls made, it might have seemed a little quiet, but we're keen to get our business done early. We want to have the squad in place as soon as possible.'
That work has already borne some fruition when you consider the signing of Daniel Andrew and Keith Southern more recently, and clearly they won't be the only ones coming in.
However, Alexander again assured the players that he wasn't looking for wholescale changes this summer.
'There's no major rebuild going on, we've got to make a tweak here and a tweak there. It's not a huge job - it's not major surgery.'
The gaffer goes on to say that he feels we already have a very good squad anyway, so it's a case of plugging a few gaps and just adding a bit of quality and nous to help everybody else reach the levels in League One that he already feels they are capable of achieving.
