'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Onwards And Upwards For Southern

Keith Southern has said what so many are thinking, if he's right, that people from outside of this club can see the progress that Fleetwood have made.

This has happened rapidly though and looks set to continue.

Southern has plenty of experience and even at 33 years of age the summer signing from Huddersfield Town, where his contract had expired, has told the official website that he his ambition matches that of the club with him thinking we have something special.

Our meteoric rise to League 1 does tend to suggest that Southern certainly knows what he's talking about with him already looking forward to the season ahead with him looking for the momentum to keep us going onwards and upwards.

'I wanted to be part of that and that was the main ambition.

'The club has got massive momentum going into a new league, a fresh league with some very big teams in, so I'm really looking forward to it.

'It's onwards and upwards, it's exciting times and we can look forward to a really good season.'

He'll not only bring extra depth and quality to our midfield he'll also add further leadership qualities to the side and help us to dig in when we need to and get us out of a hole or two I'm sure.
