Alexander Happy Post Partick

Alexander Happy Post Partick

Manager Graham Alexander declared himself happy with how our pre season had gone following on from the game against Partick Thistle.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, obviously alexander's main focus for the final match was the build up to the Crewe game on August 9.

'I thought there was some excellent football played by both teams to be fair but I was really impressed with our players. I thought they defended as we want to defend and worked really well against a good opponent, we just needed to take a couple of those chances we had.'

Alexander admitted that whilst the last two games in particular were about giving people likely to start the Crewe game a full 90 minute run out to make sure they were 100% ready, he said fans shouldn't read too much into the starting selections because Partick particularly wasn't necessarily the side that would begin our league campaign.

'That wasn't exactly the final team. We were using these two to get minutes into players we thought could possibly play next week. I thought all the players, as well as the ones who came on, did their best to stake their claim for a place in the team.'

All eyes to Crewe now.
