Alexander Proud Again Following Scunthorpe

Alexander Proud Again Following Scunthorpe

Manager Graham Alexander has again spoke of his pride at the team following their two nil victory over Scunthorpe United last night.

It was our second win in three days thanks to Jamie Proctor opening the scoring with his third goal for the club, before Gareth Evans then doubled our advantage as we saw the game out, and it does of course keep us unbeaten in the league so far following last season's promotion.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained.

'I'm really pleased. I thought the players were fantastic. We knew Scunthorpe would be hurting after Saturday's result, but we gave them a right good game. They had to give a response after Saturday's defeat and I think they did that. We had to defend and work hard, and at this level there isn't a game where you don't have to work hard, but I think every single player who wore a Fleetwood top did that.'

Alexander goes on to say that for both goals it was down to fantastic deliveries, and he knows the players are trusting each other in situations in games now and the spirit within the group is continuing to grow as we prove and show we can more than compete at this level.

The trick for Alexander now is to keep that going, especially when we hit a bad patch as we will inevitably do, because he knows nobody should be getting carried away as it's only three games in to what is a very long season, but of course the more improvement we can make the better position we'll be in deal with hiccups and days that don't go our way.
