Bolger In Team Of Midweek (17/3/17)

Bolger In Team Of Midweek (17/3/17)

Fleetwood Town are represented in the latest Football League team of midweek that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Cian Bolger in the one nil victory over Walsall in midweek at the Banks's Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Bolger was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'After having their 18-match unbeaten sequence come to an end on Saturday, Fleetwood showed their character by bouncing back with a hard-earned win at Walsall. Not for the first time, they had Bolger to thank - this is the third game in 2017 in which the centre-back has scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 away win.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Bolger for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Dean Lyness (Blackpool), Greg Leigh (Bury), Cian Bolger (Fleetwood Town), Scott Harrison (Hartlepool United), Sean McConville (Accrington Stanley), Danny Rose (Portsmouth), James Coppinger (Doncaster Rovers), Filipe Morais (Bolton Wanderers), Lee Erwin (Oldham Athletic), Reuben Reid (Exeter City), Craig Mackail-Smith (Peterborough United).

Manager - Paul Lambert (Wolverhampton Wanderers).
