Cairns In Team Of The Week (14/8/17)

Cairns In Team Of The Week (14/8/17)

Fleetwood Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by goalkeeper Alex Cairns in the one nil victory over Northampton Town at the weekend at Sixfields Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Cairns was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Cairns performed heroics to deny Northampton Town on Saturday, with Fleetwood coming away from Sixfields with a 1-0 win.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Cairns for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Alex Cairns (Fleetwood Town), Tommy Spurr (Preston North End), Jordan Forster (Cheltenham Town), Tim Ream (Fulham), Jake Jervis (Plymouth Argyle), Jorge Grant (Notts County), Andreas Bouchalakis (Nottingham Forest), Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (Cardiff City), Abel Hernandez (Hull City), Jack Marriott (Peterborough United), Kieffer Moore (Rotherham United).

Manager - Mick McCarthy (Ipswich Town).
